Jason joins us on Magic, Medicine, and Mayhem
Jason Egginton is a research professor of health services at Mayo Clinic and the founder of the nonprofits MagiKids.org and Weirdcards Charitable Club. These Magic: The Gathering-related organizations supply teachers and students across the U.S. with game supplies free of charge, and help develop new ways to play the game, such as in Oathbreaker. Jason received his bachelor’s degree in economics at St. Olaf College and his master’s in public health research at the University of Minnesota. He was on the COVID response team at Mayo Clinic, and has co-authored dozens of peer-reviewed journal articles in JAMA, Medical Care and elsewhere. His research interests are in social capital and the health behavior of groups. He lives with his wife and two teenagers in Minnesota.
